The best studios in London for videographers
London is a hub for video production and filmmaker. As a result if you're a videographer working in the city, you're spoilt for choice when it comes to video production studios. In this article we'll look at my personal favourite top three studios for videography.
Studio locations in London
The studio landscape somewhat changes from the east to the west of London. The west of London is more geared towards huge productions like film and TV commercials. The studios are magnificent and although I have filmed in many of them, the east side of London is more of a regular for my studio based filming. As a result many of the studios that are mentioned in this article are based in the East and North and personal favourites of mine for videography work.
Spring Studios
This is a high end studio with all the amenities you'd expect and want from a high end studio. They have a number of great studio spaces to choose from with infinity coves as well as natural spaces with old brick. One huge benefit is that they have kit hire on site. If you want a megaboom, colorama backdrop or lights, they have it. They also have great catering on site with food for all tastes and includes wonderful vegan options and those who can't eat gluten. It's not the cheapest studio in London but Spring Studios is certainly one of the best for those high end production you might do as a videographer.
69 drops studio
69 drops is located in east London. This is one of the better priced studios for what you get and a personal favourite for the small to medium videograohy jobs that come in. They have blackout options in a couple of their spaces and also have some parking on site. I've filmed interview projects here as well as product films. A great choice for the videogeapher with a limited budget.
Hackney Studios
I would place this studio right in the middle range for studios. Hackney Studios have a couple of spaces on offer, one of which is sound proofed which is rare in studios in London. They have a white infinity studio with green room space. The white infinity curves can be pre-lit which is of course incredibly useful. This studio is perfect for those medium to large jobs that don't need any high end extras.
I reccomend all three of these studios and have filmed at all multiple times. As a videographer it can be difficult to find the right space for your filming. Hopefully these three studios fit the hill the job you might have coming up.
