The Fire-Eater

I spent yesterday shooting a short film of a professional fire-eater. Located in a dark and dingy club in East London, we documented a handful of stunts all involving fire. It was the first time I’ve worked with fire as a light source so it took a bit of time to work out the desired effect once the flames were lit. I actually ended up using the fire as the key light so we were really able to see the flickering effect on the models face. Using a couple of small dedo lamps as fill lights and a super fast 1.2 prime lens the look really came together. We ran a lot of super slow motion on my FS700 to create some really magical looking shots.
