Nyetimber Harvest Film
We recently took trip out of London for a days filming and down to the Nyetimber vineyards to create a new video advert.
The brief for a new video advert
Its always lovely heading out of London for a filming. in this case we took a journey out to the South Downs. We were filming a new video advert showcasing the harvest dow on Nyetimber’s orchard. This was an early start with a nights stay at a hotel the night before. Of course we wanted to start by capturing sunset so up at 4am and straight to the fields we went.
The filming
A very cold but fairly clear morning greeted us upon arrival. We wasted no time in getting the camera up and start the day by capturing the misty fields. By the time the morning mist had lifted the sun made an appearance and we were off to a good start. As a result this provided us with some beautiful light to film in. Next we captured some video material of the harvest process as the pickers collected all the grapes. We focus don lots of detail. Hands picking grapes and feet walking through the vineyard. We captured some lovely material at regular speed. however we also decided to go for some super slow motion shots. This slowing down added a real sense of the quality of the process. Next we followed the journey through the factory where the grapes are turned into incredible sparkling wine.
The kit worthy of a video advert
When it came to camera gear we used our Sony FS700 and Odyssey 7Q as our run and gun style setup. We could be nimble with this and work quickly to capture moments as they happened. Then for the more worked shots, we used our Panasonic S1H on a gimbal to get some smooth movement. This was a great combination! We also had a drone capturing visuals from the air.
The end result
In conclusion we ended up with a great mixture of shots to work with on this one. This included using super slow motion, smooth gimbal shots and also some drone shots. The video is now live and will be available on our portfolio page shortly.
